Summary On February 9th, 2026 between approximately 1:50 PM and 2:59 PM EST, Middesk experienced degraded service affecting our API and dashboard. Some customers may have encountered errors when loading business data, creating Businesses, or accessing Signals during this window.
What Happened? A database query optimization change caused a core query to run significantly slower than expected, which consumed database resources and led to errors across our platform. The issue was not caused by any data loss or security event — all data remained safe and intact throughout.
What Are We Doing About This? We deployed a fix which restored normal service. We have since shipped a follow-up change that eliminates the vulnerable query pattern entirely, preventing this class of issue from recurring. We are also adding monitoring to detect query performance regressions earlier.
